DESCRIPTION: On 1/17/24, Kathie Giorgio’s husband was struck, and then run over, by a passenger van. He suffered with devastating injuries for five months, before passing away on 6/19/24. Overwhelmed with grief, Giorgio, a lifelong and accomplished writer, turned to writing for help. What she experienced is now being offered to help others, whether they’re committed writers, or simply looking for words to find their way through the pain.
In this workshop, you will explore and experiment with three different genres as a means of expression for your grief: nonfiction, poetry, and fiction. Each brings with it a unique path to processing the grief and finding your way to acceptance and moving on. You won’t be finished with grief when you leave the classroom on this day, but you will find yourself with a better sense of direction, recovery, and hope.
