SENSITIVITY READING WITHOUT CENSORSHIP

Recently, there’s been a rise in requests for paid sensitivity readers. Writers are eager to say what they want to say, without the worry of offending those they really didn’t intend to offend. Along with this rise has been an increase in concern over censorship. Would sensitivity readers suggest that writers simply not say anything at all?

At AllWriters’, we are strong supporters of anti-censorship. We don’t want to see writers gagged. But we also want writers to feel confident in what they say.

So AllWriters’ now offers sensitivity reading as a service. We will suggest to you what could be offensive and offer alternatives that would be better. We will not change your manuscript; that is always up to you. But our suggestions will include an explanation so that you can make a learned decision about how to say what you want to say.
